An Eastern engraving hidden in a mirror. The ornament is matte on a mirrored ground, so it reads only at an angle and changes as you walk around — the pattern appears, then vanishes.

The shade is stepped: three tiers descending in steps, each smaller than the last. The silhouette comes out like a collar or a headdress — a thing with bearing rather than with a shade.

By day the lamp works as a sculptural vessel with a large crown, and the ornament is visible only close to. In the evening the lantern comes on: the lower tier lights the neck, the mirror kindles, and the pattern emerges as a contour — an engraving that appears when it gets dark.

Living rooms, studies, bedrooms, private rest zones — wherever light is needed without a ceiling fixing.
