The bright future of Vargov®Design

I am Anton Vargov, founder and chief designer of Vargov®Design, and I have always looked ahead, trying to sense what is coming and to make something new that will surprise the design world. In this piece, “A Bright Future”, I want to share my thoughts on where the company is going and on the directions that will shape lighting composition in the years just ahead.

To my mind, the key factor deciding the future of lighting design will be the continued development of technology. Technology keeps widening what we can do, letting us build ever more complex and interactive lighting compositions. I see enormous potential in artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) — in “smart” lighting systems that adapt to the person using them and respond to their surroundings.

Another important trend I would single out is the growing attention to sustainability. Vargov®Design intends to develop this seriously, bringing in sustainable materials and energy-efficient technologies. A responsible attitude to the planet's resources is no longer merely a trend but a necessity. Our aim is to make pieces that are not only beautiful and functional, but environmentally sound.

Personalisation is another significant shift. Clients increasingly want something unique — something in their interior that reflects who they are. Vargov®Design already makes lighting compositions to order, and we plan to expand that side of the work, giving clients the chance to take part in the making of a one-off piece.

Vargov®Design has already earned recognition internationally, and I see the company's future in widening that global presence. We want to enter new markets and make our work available around the world. A key part of that strategy is collaboration with architects and designers abroad, and taking part in the most important fairs and competitions.

I see the future of lighting composition as a meeting of art and science. We are on the edge of discovering new forms and new ways of engaging with light, and that will let us make something genuinely revolutionary. I mean the possibilities of new materials — and dynamic compositions that can change shape and colour with the mood or the hour of the day.

I am certain that the future of Vargov®Design lies in constant innovation, in creativity and in the ability to meet new challenges. My company will go on standing at the front of lighting design, setting new standards and bringing the boldest ideas to life. Our path is a steady movement forward, and I am impatient to see what the future brings.
